Water Retention, Edema and MLD.

Water retention or Edema can be uncomfortable and even downright painful. It's common for people who spend a good deal of time on their feet. It can be the result of surgery, medication or eating excessive salt among other things. If you suffer from excessive swelling it is advised to see your doctor. Once the doctor rules out a more serious diagnosis we can begin manual lymphatic drainage.


MLD is a gentle and relaxing massage modality. The tiny vessels of the lymphatic system sit close to the skin. Only a very light touch is used so as not to compress the vessels and close them. The lymph nodes are lightly stimulated followed by slow, sweeping motion. this assist's the lymph to the nodes activating the body to purge the excess fluid.


MLD is a natural way to assist your body in eliminating toxins. This makes it a wonderful detoxifying treatment for everyone.
